New Owners of Used 2008 17B
We purchased the trailer from Tom in Seattle. I wanted to post some information regarding repatriating a trailer brought back into Canada from the US. As Tom was good enough to let us used his insurance and plates for the trip up from Seattle, we did not have to get any trip insurance through ICBC. Once at the border, after declaring that we purchased the trailer in Washington and wanted to import it into Canada, they border people gave us a Form1. This form has 3 parts. The border people stamped the first part and crossed out the second which pertains to various exclusions from the requirement of having to register with the Registrar of Imported Vehicles. The Escape is does not qualify for any exemption so requires it to be registered with the RIV. We needed to take the trailer to a Canadian Tire outlet to have it examined. In order to have the trailer examined, we needed to go the to the RIV website, pay $195 and then a certificate for examination was forwarded to us via email. Canadian Tire will not perform the examination without being handed the certificate. After being examined, the the third part of the Form1 was stamped. You need two stamps on the Form1 or you are unable to register or insure the trailer in Canada. So, after a day of shuttling back and forth between the Insurance office and Canadian Tire, we had the trailer registered and insured.
We took the trailer for a quick overnight shakedown trip and loved it. For a small trailer, it has all the comforts two people require. Escape trailers definitely live up to the billing as the best glass trailer available. Can't wait for more and longer trips.

First trip out
Will take a couple more of these trips to finally position the "cargo" in the final spots. The "once in a blue moon" stuff under the bed storage, the every day use, here, or there, or maybe in that one......

Good luck with that! It took me two years to get everything exactly where I wanted it and where it should be.
Good looking trailing. Again, congratulations.

Ha, ha! But remember I have a 15A so don't have as much space as some of you folks and thus there are fewer decisions (although I still have an empty cubby under the front seat). The most important to me was where to put my "library" of many reference books and maps. That ended up right above the dinette. Easy reach, easy access.
And it should be "Good looking trailer" not "Good looking trailing." Don't know where that came from...can't imagine.
