ETI home page update

A little over a year ago we had not heard of Escape...now here we are on their homepage in a photo from our trip home from Chilliwack last month with our very own 5.0TA...what a year it has been!

I was impressed when I first saw it, that you walked a considerable distance to shoot the picture.

Very nice David. Loved the pic when you posted. Impressed that they added it to their site.

I thought their site looked different I love the photo! Looks like their site update broke the trailer pages though, someone likely updated the wordpress theme which broke the tabs widget.

It is a beautiful picture! How special it must be to see it on their website!
Something that bothers me on the website are all the grammatical errors. I’m a teacher and I’ve been called a “grammar queen” more times than I can count. I can’t help it: mistakes just jump off the page at me from books, newspapers, menus, websites, you name it. I wish Escape had someone proofreading their website. The mistakes make the company look bad. Heck, just put me on the phone with the webmaster for a couple of hours, with computers in front of us, and I’ll walk them through what needs to be fixed. I don’t hold other people to the same standards—goodness knows, I make mistakes—but when a company’s advertising has errors it bothers me because they have poured money into something that hasn’t been done right.

My daughter is head of quality control for a larger web site company. The s#i+ would hit the fan if they had released this revision. I was a business education teacher, the school's web designer, and their IT department. There's no excuse for a website to be released with inoperative tabs/links, much less spelling/grammar errors.

I'm dyslexic. One advantage to having the form of dyslexia I have is, you can find many errors even faster. However, I do have dyslexia problems with other errors. Many times I need to come back after a few hours to find my mistakes. The three hour editing window on this forum really bugs me. Most other forums are 8-24 hours and some forever.

Enjoy,

Perry

Hope you're not talking about words like colour, honour, neighbour etc.
I did a quick scan of one page and note that they spelled "centre" as "center" which is certainly incorrect.
As for grammar in promotional material, how does that go? "Eats like a meal"?

Not surprised, but you better send a cheque, not a check.

I only looked at the home page and found two errors that are very common and drive me nuts. " Hey all you Escape owner's and wannabe's..." Why people add apostrophes to plurals is beyond me.

It is a spectacular shot! That said Escape needs to contact their Webmaster and have him/her unstretch this image. The problem might be related to the file size you provided them and an attempt to bump up the resolution. One solution might be to change the canvas size of the image. Resizing the image and keeping the same aspect ration is important.

I am on the road and have only seen it on my phone...sorry to hear it is distorted on a laptop or desktop screen, will have to check that out when we get home tonight.

I opened just the image in a separate browser tab, and it is not distorted... so the problem is in the web page, not the image file which is loaded on the server.

The image is also quite large, and free of any overlaid text, so follow that link and open just image if you want to see David's very nice photo.
