Hi Eggscape,
It is an honor to chat back at you. You've shared soooo much with all of us and given us inspiration for great ideas. I thank you for inspiring me as I have used some ideas that you've shared here. It's all about one hand helping the other and I believe in paying it forward.
It is addicting to create and work with your hands and to have something to show for our time. I just finished building a 8'x12' extra room to my work shop from the ground up in two weekends. It will be home to my big power tools.
I'm past the 12 step help as well. I'm always moving, doing something and I totally agree with your quote. " So many modifications...so little time. "
Thanks again for your time and sharing with us all.
Cheers to ya....... and Happy Trails....... Jack

Thanks HabberDabber,
No competition here. I just love working with my hands. I'll have to post a few photos of my toy hauler that I built for my drones and Rc jets, and planes. The hauler has camping features in the front half and Radio control drone, plane , helicopter work area in the rear. Designed and built all the insides in 8 months of good weekends. Fully equiped with solar, shore power, battery power, fresh water and also a self contained toilet.
I always have a project in progress of some sort. The plaque under my name here is something I do with my lasers and I have a cnc router system as well.
Got plenty of toys....
Thanks for the comments.
Cheers to ya...... and Happy Trails......... Jack

I'm not sure a 12 step program is required. I think that I'm winding down naturally after 164 mods. What could possibly be left to do?
That is, after I finish installing my bifacial solar panel. Oh yah, and that single lever pull out faucet and bathroom sink. And full extension drawer slides for the table. And on it goes.
Actually, I don't think the 12 step program has much chance of working for me.

Hi Ron,
Totally understand where you're coming from........ We're like body builders...... we don't pump iron...... but we do pump out the ideas.
All you have to do.... is go camping and while doing so you'll think of something else to add or modify.....
Build on......

There were things I knew I wanted to mod before I bought the trailer based on past experience. Then there were things I thought about from the forum after seeing and using the trailer. Many of those I have done. There are also mods that sound good, but after using the trailer, I see no reason to do them. There will probably always be a to do list.

It's great and I'm glad to have each-other here to help and to share with.
Enjoy.....

My mods are mostly under Padawan’s Life, with links to a couple of bigger projects.

Pop up power outlets & usb charger
Hi All,
Today's add-on was one that I had seen in a Escape Trailer mod video which showed this pop up outlets in Johnny Hung's Escape trailer. It's a handy add-on and easy to install.
All that is required is a 2 1/2 hole in the counter top if that's where you decide to place it and to source a/c power to it. The hard part is getting the nerve to drill the hole in the counter.
I paid around $40 for the pop up outlet on Amazon. There are different ones and sizes. Some require a 3" to 3.5" holes that are required. I wasn't going that big. The 2.5" in was the right size for the location I had in mind for it.
Turned out to be a nice clean addition.
As always, your thoughts and comments are welcome. Here are some photos of the install / finished project.
Cheers to ya........ and Happy Trails....... Jack

Additional usb charger outlets
Hi All,
Well while I was rolling along with that pop up outlet add-on I also installed a couple more USB charger outlets. These only required a
1 1/4" in. hole and I place one just above where my television cable comes in and the other is located next to the bathroom wall at the dinette end. Up on the overhead cabinet. Once located, all you need is a 12 volt source for to power the charger.
I found these USB chargers on Amazon and they where around $13 bucks each.
These locations work out well for me because just below on the walls are those folding table / shelves that I installed. Great places to charge things.
Your thoughts and comments are always welcome. Enjoy.
Here are a few photos of the finished project.
Cheers to ya....... and Happy Trails......... Jack

I've bought and added several USB outlets but I've never seen that one before. Interesting.

Hi Ron,
I thought they were kinda neat. When you first turn them on the power meter goes red, orange, green then settles out to the supplied voltage level. When charging a device the meter rotates from red to orange to green in a clockwise rotation simulating the system is charging. If you don't want the display you simply hit the on/off button once and the display turns off. There is at this point one red led that is on to indicate the power is on.
Nice little add-on. Here is the link to it on Amazon.

Fortunately there's an on/off switch on that charger.
Alice spends a considerable amount of time each night covering any lights on devices throughout the trailer such as the tv power indicator, charge wizard, fridge display, multiple usb chargers, etc.
I keep telling her that's why we have eye lids then roll over!!

Hi daveandalice,
Yes that is a nice added bonus to this charger to be able to turn the display off.
When additional information is needed the you can turn it on.
I see that you are from my neck of the woods so to speak.
I'll be in Henderson for holiday at the end of next month. I'll be camping at Margaritaville there. Thought I'd give it a try to see what it's all about.
Cheers to ya........ and Happy Trails......... Jack

Yours also because ordering from the US basically doubles the cost.
Trying hard to think of a location where I "need" one.

Hey Ron,
I know what you mean about the price difference between US vs Canada.
Last year I sent Karl at Escape Trailer a small plaque that I make (like the one under my name here) with his name on it. It cost me $30 bucks to mail it there, didn't weigh much at all. But I made it and sent it, then in that same week he announced his departure from Escape Trailer.
Don't know if he ever got it or not.
Anyway, mailing prices are off the hook sending from US to Canada.

Registration holder
HI ALL,
Here is a easy add-on to keep your trailer registration and insurance card in. It's water proof to keep all papers dry and clean.
I located mine just inside the door next to the fire extinguisher to be able just reach in and grab it .
Bought it off eBay for around $11 bucks. Here is a link to it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/11155030944...Bk9SR_ya7OvnYw
All comments and thoughts are welcome as always...... Enjoy.
