Smaller table for our 19
Michelle and I have talked about getting a smaller dinette table for our 19. Just saw a review of the 17b by Adventures in Nomadness and am wondering if the 2-person dinette table in the 17b could replace our current 4-person table with minimal or no modifications, other than removing the front post. Is it even available from Escape?

I have to ask why?
What are you going to do with the space you "gain"?
The 17' is also narrower than the 19' so you need to consider that too.
I have a 17' and that's one squishy spot.

I just bought a glued edge board and cut to fit. I’ll have pictures in my Lagun table mount thread when I get the varnishing done. It will be a couple of days probably.

It doesn't diminish the size of the area, just the amount of space consumed by the table. I've looked at the Laguna and Springfield modifications folks have done, just too much technical work for me. Thought this looked like an easy mod to get the smaller table with no drilling of the floor or added framework.

We had Escape make a smaller extra table for us. We do a lot with the space we gain. Crossing our legs for starters…..

I plan on a smaller table too. It's too hard to get in and out without sliding the table side to side. A bit of a hassle.
I am thinking of making my own table, a bit smaller with a Lagun mount possible or I could fabricate something. What I am also considering is what Eggscape here on the forum did. He added a back across the front of the trailer to lean against so you can lean back comfortably.

If I wanted a smaller table I would still keep the original, just in case.

We did. I purchased an extra Lagun table mounting plate for the smaller table and switch out tables as needed. Standard table goes when grandkids are with us and smaller when it’s just the two of us.

Escape supplies a table in the 19 that's about 12" shorter when the U-shaped dinette option is ordered (30" vs 42"), but maintains the same 30" width (the front table in the E17 is 26" wide x 25" deep). I'm planning on going with this option with my E19 build (with the Lagun mount). That will allow me to swing the table out of the way and create a more spacious lounge-like feel in the dinette area.
I would think it would be possible to adapt this smaller table to an existing bench-style dinette, though you would need to change the location of post mounts on the floor. If Escape was not willing to supply the parts, it would be easy enough to have something similar built. You would still need to keep the original table to convert the dinette into a bed...or have a 12" filler panel made.

Thanks! I was really hoping the smaller table would fit on the post in its existing location so all we would have to do is remove the front post. Certainly seems Escape must have these different sized tables laying around. Maybe all I would need is the slides for the smaller table and then manufacture the top to meet our needs. Thanks again for your response.
