Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
Thank you all....
Pat was a special person to us. He worked part time when he could fit it in...he was semi retired (62). When he got sick last year he kept coming in for coffee and ice cream. Reace is taking it pretty hard as him and Pat used to work weekends together.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
Post Pancake Escape to the water.
If folks are interested in a nice paddle around the island in a massive canoe let me know. The campground has a big "Langley" (by Clipper) canoe - it holds about 14 people, with paddles. I asked if we could use it, assuming interest, on Saturday and they said sure. Might be a small cost for rental, but not likely.
For anyone who hasn't experience one of these - they are a lot of fun and a good way to check out the area. I paddled one, with a group, down the Stewart, Nechaco, and Fraser systems last year - a total blast.
We would need 10 or more interested people of all sizes and ages to make it work. The trip around the island would take about 1.5 hours (I did it solo in just under that - in a much smaller canoe).
We could also open it to anyone, but other folks might get tired of hearing about how fantastic the Escape trailers are (I suppose we could just throw them overboard if they complained too much).
As for the Breakfast - Reace and Tammy - I'm an early riser, so if you want to, and have time, I'll make you guys some pancakes before you head off for the day. (really sorry to hear about your loss)

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
If there is enough interest by others, we would be in to doing that dirk. Regardless, I will still want to go for a bit of a paddle.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
I'll definitely paddle - I have my own solo canoe here - we can head up the channel a ways (or go all the way around). It would be fun to fill the big canoe though (my fingers are crossed).

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
Hi Dirk,
Thank you for the offer for pancakes Saturday morning, however, Reace is now unable to attend most of the rally. With staff preparing for the memorial service and others fighting the flu it is necessary for him to work some extra hours to meet upcoming deadlines. We are hoping he will make it down for Saturday night for the potluck and stay for Sunday morning's potluck.
Thank you again,
Tammy

Yes, Ian and I would love to do the paddle thing. We have a dog who will be fine left alone, but don't know the campground rules. If that is an issue, then one of us will go! Thanks for organizing.
We just drove from Vermont, and checked into the Travelodge in Chilliwack, our last motel! Yipppeee! It has been quite something dealing with a totally over packed car and a dog and sometimes going up 3 flights of stairs with all the paraphernalia! We can hardly wait to have our own cabin pulling along behind us. We look forward to meeting all of you and being able to relax for a couple of days without zooming along a highway. See you soon!

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
Hey Jenny and Ian, tomorrow is the big day, eh?
I would imagine it would be no big deal to bring Gracie in the canoe, unless there is no room. I would hope so, because we would have Jasper to deal with too.
See you in a couple days.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
I'll ask about dogs in the canoe - but I'm sure it will be no problem. It's a pretty darn big canoe.... 29 feet long, 51 inches wide, and seats 14 paddlers. Guaranteed fun.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
I'm going to be waaaaay over the other side of the campground for that weekend (K18) so it's easier for me to move to where it shall be that for you all to me to where I shall be. I'm open to suggestions.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
Come on over to the Bennett/Eddy site if you want. I am assuming Sandy and Ian are ok with that.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
So, the site is called Chinook 23. According to this map, that is at the northeast corner - far from the entrance and visitor parking. We will be there at 9:00 tomorrow, but will have to leave right at 9:30.
Since we are still on the fence over 13' or 17', and have to tell Reace within a couple of weeks, we hope to poke our heads into a few trailers in the short time that we will be there.

Re: Ft. Langley Egg meet
Just got in an hour ago from my long 4 day journey to pick up my trailer and head on over to the meet. Reace an a couple of his great workers had to work hard to finish of everything, but got it all done for us. They were great.
The Fort Langley meet was lots of fun, with lots of real nice people. The Escape owners we met were all fantastic, and it was real great to meet them all. We are definitely going to make a big effort to be there next year as well.
