Do you have a picture or brand name for the live trap you use. I don't need it for the trailer but for around my house. They seem to be able to escape the big Victory traps. I have used those little sound emitting devices (available at Home Depot) with some success.

We use Havahart traps Havahart® | Caring Control Solutions for Wildlife which can be found at many garden/outdoor stores. I've never had much luck with the snap traps and I won't use those glue traps.

No live trap this, but I've had more success with Wilson Predator traps than with Victory. They are also easier to set.
I once caught a whole family of rats in two of three rat traps I had set. Got mom and two youngsters in one and two youngsters in another.

Trapper T-Rex, below for photo, but I believe I found mine at Home Depot. I'm not one for giving them a second chance!

Yes, doesn't it, though? But very efficient. It has a removable little button canister for the bait (usually peanut butter), so it's easy to load. I live close to a lagoon, so rats, possums, raccoons, skunks and coyotes are not uncommon in the neighborhood. They drive my dog nuts at night walking along the top of the fence. I won't try to trap the raccoons for fear of getting a skunk, but the rats are fair game. Filthy buggers. But to bring the thread back to its intent, I've never had a mouse or rat in any trailer I've owned.

Exactly. I'm all for humane treatment of critters, but rats and mice are vermin. Taking a few of them out is doing society a service.

Since I started using the ultrasonic 110V plugin unit we've had no issues.
I'm going to try one in the trailer this winter as long as I can find a power source.

Finding where they enter may be difficult as they can get into the smallest of openings!
Fresh Cab works great! It smells like balsam fir. There is a money back guarantee.
We use them everywhere....in the vehicles, out buildings, root cellar etc.

Has anyone here actually had any kind of rodent get into their Escape Trailer? With windows and vents closed, I don't know how, other than the front door, they could get in.

Apparently yes - that what Elizabeth reported in the first post of this thread. Did you mean anyone else, perhaps? I agree that it should be relatively rare, and I have not had this problem with my similar (non-Escape) moulded fiberglass trailer.

Yes that's correct Elizebeth did say that. I'm sorry but what I ment to say was aside from mice possibly getting in the trailer while the door was open, has anyone been bothered by the intrusion of mice or other rodents during storage when the door is/was presumedly closed. I should have made myself more clear. Thank you Brian for asking for clarification.

I would think that it would be quite easy for a couple of mice or other rodent to enter a trailer at the camp site, stay hidden, and then surface at a later date.

I wish that something would work to keep them off the cabin air filters on our Tacoma and Corolla. For whatever reason mice love Toyotas!

Hi: thoer... Try putting some Bounce Dryer sheets in with the filters. If you can't stand the smell...neither can the meeces.
They work well for storage season, in Escape cupboards too!!! Alf

Alf I think you are right that I won't be able to stand the smell of my truck then! I've tried stuff supposedly great at repelling mice on it and since all the air in the cabin comes thru that filter it gets really strong in there.

Hey Alf, how do the mice get into your storage cupboards during the off season?
