He said to pop off the cap and check the expanding foam sealant around the flexible vent pipe where it exits the roof. I climbed up while he was working on the plumbing and found a small gap in the foam. He was going to climb up and seal it with ProFlex, so I just did it while he was working on Paul's trailer at the bottom of our driveway. Made me feel at least somewhat useful with all the work he was doing!

Watching Reace on the plumbing repair, I could tell he has it down to a science and he did, as expected, an excellent job. Like someone else posted, except for a few new pieces of trim on the cubbies you'd never know he had it all apart. He also fixed a small leak on our hot water connection in the kitchen, diagnosed the grey tank smell in our microwave cabinet, made several adjustments to the awning, and showed me the screws to check occasionally on it for tighness.

Mary fed him homemade pizza and rhubarb pie, and I supplied the Summer Shanty. Every time I have a chance to interact with Reace or Tammy, I am reminded how lucky we are to have them as our trailer builders.

Thank you Reace for this amazing cross country marathon!
Yes, what was causing the gray tank smell in the microwave cabinet? And could someone post photos and instructions about adjusting and tightening which screws in the awning? That would be very helpful.

Alf, I bet Reace would have stopped by if he could. Come for a visit to Wisconsin and we can share those cold ones! I bet IowaDave would volunteer to come up and help with that too!

Except for some very long days of driving and working, Reace seems to be enjoying much of his trip. He said he has seen many areas of the US he'd never seen or even known about before. I think that the nearly universal good will and thanks he's gotten from people he's met as his does these repairs has helped make it a net positive for him!

Hi Eric
I once drove 44 miles of logging roads against log truck traffic to get a chicken dinner so I'd certainly drive to Wisconsin for cold beer if you're buying. Came through Chicago mid day yesterday. 2 full hours from Joliet to the Indiana line. My slowest time in about 37 years and well over 100 trips. Just lots of traffic, some construction and steady rain, never heavy. Worth it though, we are in Fort Wayne at Teresa and Todd's B&B. After all the time we have spent and are going to spend in Canada this year you'd think we could get some Canadians to come down to our stable, well run, universally loved country to have a friendly brew.

Hi: thoer... If I came up to Wisconsin I'd have to send out notices for everyone to stay off the sidewalks. Besides I'd never make it past Chippewa Falls!!! http://www.leinie.com Alf

Dave/Eric: planning on running down your way after the 2018 Winnipeg bash, then to the Mississippi rally. Hopefully the exchange rate is a little more even by then.

One thing about it, even if the exchange is back to even, our gasoline will still be a bargain more than likely. And when you get down in our country in the late summer/ early fall there is unlimited produce to be had. We will feed you well. We will be up to Winnipeg too along with our daughter and her 1974 boler. We will stop at Adrian's and drink his beer too. .

Montana is great. I love travelling in the US as much as Canada, lots of great places to see and folks to meet. Despite politics, we all are fortunate to live in a couple of wonderful first world countries.

Bruce you will also be more than welcome to pull your trailer into our native prairie field (at the bottom of our long steep driveway) , boondock there, and have a few homebrews. I always say that the native prairie likes to get driven over -- it thinks the trailers are bison.

Hi: thoer... I don't mind the prairie part... it's the native part that worries me. If they get restless and think trailers are bison... we might as well be "Sitting ducks" LoL Alf

What about us Dave, we certainly come down. We love your country especially since our daughter and son-in-law live there. BTW they arrived safely in CA this week enroute GA. Mind you I think we'll be spending less time south than we had thought, could be winters in Osoyoos instead. Just priced out our health insurance for Beth for 62 days when she goes to GA and me for 30 days, over $1100 ouch!

See you on the Mississippi (well I'll see you at home before that will let you know)

Alf you don't have to go as far as WI, just come to IL for the Mississippi rally, there's still room.
