Hi problem solvers,
Let me begin by admitting a dumb newbie mistake (dumb because I'm not a newbie... .
I turned the water heater on only realize a bit later that I had not filled the tank. When I filled the tank the heater would not ignite - DSI FLT light comes on. At first I thought I must have burned about the heater element and then realized I was not on shore power but on propane. I've pressed the reset button - shoved a wire through the vent tube for any obstructions but still no go. Any suggestions? The stove works fine - so pressure is in the lines.
Check to see if you have tripped the high limit safety switch
It must be manually reset by pushing the reset button
It does not automatically reset when the temperature drops below the limit’s setpoint
The switch can be accessed from the outside — Top of water heater behind black cover
My 2017 17B has TWO reset buttons (right next to each other). I, TOO, was sure I messed up on doing something out of order, until some one showed me the two. They said after re-setting, the heater would try up to three times to ignite, and if that didn't work, try the re-sets again. You may have something more complicated, but hopefully not. Mine fired up on the second try. Best wishes!
