ETI does not warranty the pump, Sureflo does and its a (1) year. That time has expired. I intend on calling them and asking if they will replace the pump since its only a few months out of warranty....

You're correct on all accounts, the pump was not being used. However, the pump check valve failed allowing water to seep thru the pump into the fresh water tank. The solution is to replace the pump.
