Maybe the "short jack "- the 3500# Atwood ETI sell would make a difference. I suspect it would as our Yukon lift gate opens fine with a 3" extension the Pro Series gave us over our original Andersen.

Generally speaking the shorter the distance from the rear axle to the hitch point the less "wag" by the trailer to the tow vehicle- whether it be the rear overhang or the length of the ball shank.
