The best value for money spent with USPS "IF" boxes is really heavy stuff. Definitely can save money if you ship bricks.

Didn't fit in one of those - part was 28 x 10 x 16 inches.

True, but packaging adds weight. I just shipped a $40 part about 1200 miles and the UPS shipping charge was $76 for 7 lbs of plastic...........
