You could wire in a switch just about anywhere as long as the appropriate sized wire was used (not sure what that is without looking though). Any switch rated for adequate amperage could be used too....

I would call Escape. Something must be amiss. Either way they will get it working for you.

I rarely used ours, so am not real familiar. I do know there is a manual and an automatic setting, maybe...
