I would go for at least 10ft as the tape has varying wood grain. That way you can select the part of the tape that more closely matches the wood grain that you are trying to repair.

You could ask ETI to send you some Oak veneer tape. I picked up a roll at the last Escape rally I went to and find that it hides boo boos fairy well.
