They can be bypassed with a switch on the display but that is just electronically. If a ground fault exists with the actual wiring it will still trip the GFI the trailer is plugged in to.

A bad GFI outlet on the trailer should not cause a house GFI to trip when plugging into shore power. It would only affect the GFI outlet itself and any other outlets downstream.
