That is exactly why they should only be used while plugged in, so that your 55 amp converter can supply the power otherwise 5 hours will kill a set of 6 volts!

The double pane windows is the key here, sound and cold is easily transmitted thru single paned windows. When you close the door on an Escape, there is silence inside as the noise remains outside....
