The Dakota and Cherokee (not Grand Cherokee) are actually quite different vehicles. I think the upper limit of what the Daks were rated to tow was around 7000 pounds depending on...

My situation is a bit specific, and if I were to change vehicles, I'd be going with a 1 ton or larger (think F-550) pickup truck for my longer term plans.
