What about getting that cheap device intended to...

What about getting that cheap device intended to clean out the hot water tank? Maybe just hack the end off of it and insert into the fresh water fill.

I put my water 20 litre container on the picnic...

I put my water 20 litre container on the picnic table and draw water there. Have never needed to transfer water to the fresh tank. If I need water, I always need to dump too.
