GMC also has the downgrade assist. Tuneups will cost a lot no matter what gas engine now a days.

I've noticed that also. Maybe it's the echo boost that fools people. The 6.2 shuts down 4 cylinders when 8 isn't needed. I use the tow/haul mode when towing. Not sure but think it changes shift...

I tow 5.0ta with 1/2 ton GMC Denali with 6.2 eng....

I tow 5.0ta with 1/2 ton GMC Denali with 6.2 eng. Towed from Tracy ca. to Everett Wash and back. 2400 miles with some non towing milage. Averaged 15 to 16 mph and enjoyed the power.
