5.0TA, w/ high lift axel, 5th wheel tow assembly

Preparing to take our F150 super cab, 6.5'Bed to pick up the 5.0TA at the factory.

Looking at installing the hitch. Considering the Curt A16521 fifth wheel with sliding rail assembly. https://www.curtmfg.com/part/16521

We are in PA, and our driveway and roads are at opposing slopes (+/-5 deg), and Curt says they can handle 10deg, on both axis. Assembly is a bit heavy (200Lbs).

Is anybody using this hardware on the Escape 5.0TA? Overkill?

Alternate suggestions? (The Reese could only handle 4-5deg).

seeing as how you don't really need a slider, you could check with B&W for the pitch range of the Patriot. says it's fully articulating but don't see how much in the owners manual.

I use the Anderson Ultimate rail mounted hitch on a F 150 with a 5.5' bed. The ball allows much more than 10 deg., is 1/2 the price and 1/4 the weight.

What modification will I need to do to the trailer hitch to use this system? Is this a Anderson part I need to add?

The Anderson comes with a king pin adaptor and Escape will mount it on the trailer for you as part of the setup. I believe they charged me a $50.00 additional fee for the Anderson but they also mounted it with the chains and set it level. It sits in the slots of the rails but I mounted the rails with the Anderson 3220 fitted to them. I installed the rails myself but probably won't do that for my next truck. I have locks on the hitch so I leave it in my truck all the time.
