Kris,
I am interested in knowing what ETI has to offer. I have the same set up and may have the same problem, but Arkansas weather is not cold enough for me to winterize the trailer yet.

I blew out the water lines on our 5.0TA today and am a bit concerned about water remaining in the low points. The hot and cold water lines for the sink cross over to that side by running outside of the coach next to the axle. They then re enter the coach and go to the sink. These lines are the lowest point in the system and since they are outside, must be mostly clear of water. My concern is there could be more residual water there than should be and freeze. Am I just over thinking this? Thanks, Bob

A bit of residual water in the lines will not cause any problems when it freezes. You should be fine.

Didn't realize that temperatures ever got below freezing in your part of the world. You sure that you need to winterize?

Typically, our temps usually stay above freezing for the majority of the winter. It is not uncommon to have a cold snap or two and our temps will go into the low 20's or even the teens. It does snow as well, but is usually gone in a few days. The one thing I miss about our Casita is that all water lines and tank were inside the coach. I would just use a small electric heater when it was below freezing. We do love our 5'r though, no looking back!

If you believe Accuweather for Tacoma, you should be fine. A low of 37.5 F.

Bob, we are just across the bridge from you in Gig Harbor. We ended up winterizing our 21 late last November, just before the first predicted freeze, using the same blow-out-the-pipes method.
Then we un-winterized it during the 'warm' spell in January and went to the beach! Then re-winterized. Worth the trouble!
Now we're watching the forecast, ready to blow it out again, hoping we don't have to until after a planned Thanksgiving trip to Belfair State Park. Turkey Chili in the rain...

Now, that sounds like a fun idea. Thanks.
If only we had rain in our region.

This may help those still hazy about the process. After draining all tanks, water heater, etc., bypass valves are adjusted to bypass water heater. Hose valve is turned to position allowing pump to suck antifreeze through system. Open faucets. Pump is turned on, antifreeze fills lines real fast.

Why do they run the lines outside, rather than inside?

I was surprised when i saw it. Probably the easiest way to cross over to the other side.

Hi Doug, it is a bit early to winterize but I wanted to familiarize myself now while I have plenty of time. We plan on going to Grayland over Christmas and will most likely re-winterize a couple of times. Another reason for not using the pink stuff.

There is no "basement" in an Escape (or most other moulded fiberglass travel trailers). If you need to run water lines from side to side, you obviously can't run them above the floor, so that leaves either under the floor (which is outside), or around the end in cabinets.

So the inner floor (which you walk on) is not raised above the fiberglass shell? I maybe wrongly assumed that there was some sort of framework between the shell and floor.

No space, the plywood is epoxied to the shell.
