I think it would be nice to show all the forum members your treasure, not just those with a large trailer. You're obviously proud of them, let's see what you got.

It has been interesting to me over the years to watch the price of antique cars. They peak and then decline as the favored era passes through the market population. Model T cars way down model A cars down significantly, postwar down, muscle cars, not as good as 5 years ago and so it goes. However, the really special, one off stuff holds up better. It's not what it's worth, it's what someone will pay. Cult followings, as I call them, all bets are off and it can get crazy.

IPersonally, I wouldn't trade my 5.0TA for a chandelier even if the chandelier may be worth $100,000. At my age, God only knows how much time I may have left to do what I want to do, and what I want to do is travel and enjoy my trailer. And I'm not wasting a year or more of what time is left to get a new one after having waited 10 months to get the one I now have. Perhaps the trailer is worth $30,000 US. That would net me $70,000, but I would rather have the $30,000 trailer than $70,000 cash assuming I could sell the chandelier. But I might (repeat, MIGHT, not will) consider selling my 5.0TA for $200,000 cash. No, make that $250,000 to cover any taxes I might have to pay. Because to me, my 5.0TA is more valuable than money.

As previously stated, I am sorry to have raised the issue here. I thought this was a friendly place, obviously my mistake. Certainly did not intend to imply anyone should give up their possession unless it was of interest to them to do so. We value everyone else's privacy and security, as well as our own.

People were not being unfriendly. They were just explaining that the odds of finding someone who wants to trade their Escape 5.0 TA for a chandelier is extremely remote. I think you have now understood.

I've often thought it certainly doesn't hurt to ask. They've already said no if you don't ask. Give them an opportunity to say yes.

As you've found, you're not having much luck here. Perhaps a different build-type owner would be more receptive? I respectfully suggest you post your question at: iRV2 Forum | - RV Forum Community and RV News

Best of luck!

In my opinion, which is just that, opinion, and not worth much, the above was the most "unfriendly" comment made in this thread.

Sure didn't want to produce any pics of the items for some reason. Very strange.
