One thing I was thinking about, something that came up at past Escape rallies, is that when greeting others, it is good to identify yourself by username here too. Helps put a face to a name. I know I have met some members from the forum without realizing who they were here. Just a thought.

Mine is easy though.

You had better put "Mr. Tough Guy" on yours or they might not know with whom they are dealing!

My name tag has "cpaharley 2008" in bold and Jim underneath. Same one I have used since 2008, Not sure what the custom ones display.

In any event, you would have to make a request for how your name is displayed on the tag.
Or, as for myself and my wife Leslie, in her case, I crossed off the name and wrote in "Old Bag". Mine just said "Baglo".

This post contains no reference to guns.

Hehehe, but you are probably going to be hit with "gunfire" again. I never knew if that person was serious or not. Guess so. Many cannot get the deal on that so better duck!

De face ment

Having dealt with public park graffiti for 32 years I cannot help myself when I get a nametag. Out comes the marker and pretty soon I've got a nametag with what most tell me is too much information. This year I'll be sporting a new business card and trading them for Mickey Mantle and Ernie Banks rookie cards. Eric Thompson are you crazy? Deface Bennetts trailer and then eat his French toast? How long do you think it would be before you got a tummy ache? I'm about 20 miles north of chamberlain sodak tonight. Corps of engineers $9.00 with the geezer pass. Electric and about 100 feet to the comfort station. Very quiet except for the liars at the fish cleaning station. Here's a look at my new coyote rifle

I'm thinking those tires have "aged out".

Just after beginning our trek east to the rally yesterday. Kennedy Lake first lake east of the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Best route to Osoyoos for beginning towing?

Is highway 97C or highway 3 easier to take with trailer for a amateur towing person from the west to Osoyoos?

I have always taken Highway 3 from North Van to Osoyoos. To get to 97C you have to take the long way around, and can't avoid hills and corners anyway. Just take it easy.

Via 97C is an extra 100 kilometers and will route you through towns that are currently facing floods.

LJY, the Coq/97C is a mostly a two lane divided highway with some steep (14% in one spot) and long descents (near Kelowna). Tow/haul mode and no-riding the brakes.

The Hwy 3 route is lower elevation, but with switchbacks and a fair chunk of 1 lane (one direction) where faster cars will stack up behind you.

Your choice.

Early bird winner for showing up at Nk'Mip: E13 with a dark Tacoma from White Rock. All alone in a sea of stickie monsters. No body around to get a name from, but I'm sure someone will know them.

The campground is at 99.99% occupancy for the long weekend, with some tenters even on the lawn by the clubhouse. The lake is high but not over the banks on the low lying, far North side.

PS, found some good posts for towing tips. Page 3 onwards.

PPS, no sign of the dreaded puncture vine (goatshead) on the bike tires today. I hope I didn't jinx it.

Won't most of our activities be taking place at the club house in the center of the "C" loop? Potlucks etc?

Yes.

My point in posting flood/lake level is that it has been on news locally so some might wonder. Also, last years have seen many Escapers on the lower lakeshore sites, albeit not the lowest ones to the North.

Further, about 5 years ago or so, the low end of the campground did flood out and I have no idea how management handled that crisis.

However, there are a number of places where cars can pass you on Highway 3, so its not that bad. My vote would be Highway 3 through Manning Park.
