We hope the sausage gravy meets with Jim Norman’s , Ohio Ralph’s and Iowa Dave’s approval .
I've been thinking of the sausage gravy quite a bit lately. Just seeing the ingredients has my taste buds tingling. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Will be sending out lots of positive weather energy this Fall to bring us some perfect Autumn days for the rally.

Back at you Ralph, we will miss Niagara, we had to chose and picked Algonac. Besides I did not want to be the first to attend Niagara 4 times in 4 different Escapes..........

Swapping of the Stuff

Paul sent out the schedule yesterday, and it occurred to me that I have collected more Stuff which I don't need but someone else may find useful. Therefor, I will host a "Swapping of the Stuff" on Saturday morning during the trailer viewings. It will be at our site (110) from 09:00 to High Noon. The same rules apply as in previous Swappings:
  • Please label your stuff with your name. Doesn't have to be fancy. A post-it will do.
  • Please come back at noon to pick up Stuff that belongs to you. If you don't pick it up by 12:30 it will go in the dumpster.
  • If there is some special and / or arcane knowledge associated with your Stuff, note it on a label for prospective swapees.
  • All Stuff is to be given away. The terms of my parole don't allow me to handle other people's money.
  • Stuff does not come with any warranty, implied or otherwise. However, Stuff may be returned during normal businses hours for other Stuff of equal or greater value.

So bring your Stuff, and stop by to see if you can find some useful Stuff and maybe we will all end up with just the right Stuff!

Sounds like a perfect plan. We do this at the Niagara rally also and it is a huge success. Thanks for organizing it.

Hi Leon,
Glad to see you’re managing the free tarp. We had fun doing it the last two years and it’s always a popular event. It does come with certain responsibilities like the refreshment table, the free snacks and shopping bags for lucky recipients. Just thought you’d like to know this so your public is not disappointed. I have several
Items already packed and looking for more. Anybody need a bent up mud flap off of a Tempe grain trailer? My landfill service won’t take it. See you there.

Yes it is, you’ll only burn a few calories walking over to the campsite to eat. Hey Ralph, how about those Buckeyes?

Will anyone attending need to have their tongue weighed? I have a Sherline scale that I can pack, if needed, otherwise the space will be used for something else, like beer.
BTW, we are now planning on arriving Wednesday evening or a day earlier than previously. We have a new 4 legged canine named Franklin and decided not to attend Algonac Rally this weekend but to add a day to Mississippi and try to stop at Algonac just for lunch on way out since both rallies were along the same routes. Makes it easier on the dogs.

Camping out at Westbranch State Park in NE Ohio. Woke this morning and was thinking I could go for a nice plate of biscuits and sausage gravy. Looking forward to the Mississippi Rally to get my fix.

To the north in the tent area are several Hickory and oak trees. There are a fair number of squirrels in there. Your dog. ought to be interested in that. Can he climb trees high enough to back flip off of them and stick the landing? Watching a Jack Russel work a squirrel Timber is one of life’s great pleasures for this old boy.

About 20 miles from where the rally is held at Milledgeville Illinois I looked at some Jack Russel puppies a few years ago. The guy who had them turned the mom loose in the fairgrounds oak timber. It took her about 2 minutes to tree a squirrel about a block away. He was selling puppies at a good clip as I walked away.

This will drive Franklin nuts, being a rescue we are unsure of his age, his name is what attracted us. He is still learning so hopefully he will try a little harder to be on his best behavior. Hershey, being 11 is always on her best. It will be challenging....may need more beer.

If all goes as planned we’ll be bringing our 11-year old German Shepherd dog, Ivan. Although he’s mellowed in his old age Ivan still doesn’t like other dogs. We always hope others keep their dogs on leash and close at hand, as we do. Dog fights are nasty things. As for people, if you’re our friend then Ivan is your friend too.
