Oooh, El Capitan, that brings back many good memories. I used to love camping there when I lived in California. About as close as you can get to camping on the beach around there. I used to camp right on the beach in Ensenada, Mexico.

It is gorgeous there! We take our stand-up paddle boards and get out on the water.
Where in California were you?

Seal Beach, just south and across the marina from Long Beach.

Dan, if I remember correctly you have a Ford F150 with the ecoboost engine. Reace has the F150 with ecoboost and really likes it over his previous F150 with a V8 engine.

Yeah, it's because of Dan (and Chris) and Bret (and Ellen) and Reace (and Tammy) that I'm really, really considering a new F-150 (with Ecoboost) to tow my new 5er!!! I haven't heard anything 'Icky" from any of the three that says I should change my mind...

On edit.. okay, the only "Icky" thing I've heard is a new Ford F-150 with Ecoboost comes with a "mortgage." sigh...

We have about 31,000 miles on it, a lot of it towing. Really like this truck. On paper the 5.0 V8 and the Ecoboost look pretty close. Reace is the first person I have met that has had both. He told me when we were in Bandon that towing his toy hauler, his buddies with diesels left him on the steep grades with the V8, but with the Ecoboost, he hangs with them just fine.

I can say that for the Casita, and now the Escape 19, it is plenty capable, is very comfortable, and is pretty low cost to own.

Previously I had an Excursion diesel.

I would recommend this truck to a friend. The new Dodge looks pretty good too.

I think you will like it. One of the things I like is the service is pretty reasonable. I just went in for the 30K service and expected it to be more expensive. $39.95 at the quick lane at the Ford dealership I always go to.
