TV reception at Champoeg in Oregon???

A proposed mid-January outing at Champoeg State Heritage Area near Portland raises an important (to me) NFL Playoffs-related question.

Assuming the State Park doesn't offer cable TV, and I think it does not... does anyone know if the campground gets decent over-the-air (OTA) TV reception?

I ask because my favorite team might make the playoffs... though the odds look a bit long. Wally looks more worried than Tyler.

Most site in the B loop are wide open while the A loop has many trees. You should be fine in the B loop with a good antenna.

Wouldn't it be more fun to watch in a sports bar? Must be something nearby.

Go to tvfool for distance and bearing to stations. Looks pretty good, lots of stations about 20 miles away.

Yes, Glenn, it surely would. But the darned sports bars won't let me bring terriers in with me. Underage, I guess. Also, may bark at opposing teams or poor officiating.

Thanks, y'all. I did know about tvfool but my antenna is not the best (leaf-style) and if there's much tree cover it's almost worthless. If the exchange rate had been what it is now when we bought Toto, we surely would have opted for the Jack antenna--had to draw the line somewhere.

We'll go to B loop, and, er, hope there's a game we want to watch.

Yes, Loop B is wide open and the sites are newer. The downside is sites are not that private and you're going to be with all the behemoth RVs. We stayed earlier this year in Loop A, site A23 and loved it (check out the park on YouTube). We have satellite and, as I remember, didn't get any or much reception.

I'm not sure, but I think perhaps A loop at Champoeg is now closed for the season. It's full if Oak trees and in years past, they closed the loop for fear of tree limbs coming down on campers.

I'll be in B13 for the Notta NOG. Last year Ginger had some sort of antenna and picked up pretty decent PDX channels. No cable however unless you've got Direct, Cube, etc.
