Wow, great stuff.
Don't think you can tow to Juneau...wonder if it looks the same.

Last time I was in Juneau was 2010 I believe and I doubt the core dowtown has changed much since 2004. When you get away from downtown there has been some new development-Costco, Walmart, etc.
Beautiful area.

We enjoyed Juneau and our yacht tour to Sitka a few years back. I would love to take my trailer through there, but it is a bit pricey with that much ferry cost. There are a few campgrounds along the way.

Haida Gwaii
Just back from a 4 week trip to northwestern BC including 12 nights on Haida Gwaii. In case you are considering this trip, the 7 hour ferry ride cost us $900 return with our 35 foot 17B and Pathfinder. I think it's twice the cost of traveling from the lower mainland to Vancouver Island. We were almost always in BC parks and had hook ups for 4 nights total. The provincial campsites on Haida Gwaii are both lovely, Agate Beach on the north end of the island (location of this back window photo) looks out to Alaska on a clear day. Solar worked great even with all the misty weather. Must do's are Gwaii Haanas National park (need to go on a tour as boat access only) and the Khutzeymateen Grizzly bear sanctuary north of Prince Rupert, Nisga'a Nation and Lava beds park north of Terrace. Only bad experience was our one night in the Prince Rupert RV park, avoid it if you can. This is a part of BC I have been wanting to visit for some time and we both really enjoyed the trip. Scott also tells me we spent $957 on gas to drive 5200km. Gas in Haida Gwaii $1.86/litre, luckily there aren't many roads there! Hope the photo uploads.

I had my boat tied up to the dock in QCC and it was very cloudy. Talking with a local and I said, "looks like it's going to rain". Nope, he said, it looks like that all the time.
Gwaii Hannas NP is pretty special. Almost a one of a kind situation or certainly the best of several of that type of old village sites on the whole coast.

Early fall in North Dakota??
I was relaxing on the bed last evening when glanced out the window and saw yellow trees, oh no, instant fall. No, just the sun setting casting a golden hue on the trees across Lake Renwick. This is at Icelandic State Park in northeastern ND, one of our favourite places to stay. Full house on the weekend but as you can see in second photo all alone in the primitive area this morning!

Yes, the other day I was thinking that I may have to winterize my trailers in a couple of weeks.

Ilse and I recently camped in Camp Hale, just north of Tennessee Pass, off of CO24 between Leadville & Vail, Colorado. Camp Hale is where the 10th Mountain Division did their winter training during WWII. While only foundations of the camp's many buildings remain, one can certainly feel the historical significance of the place. The small, 21 site, campground is nestled in an open pine tree glade at the south end of the huge mountain park situated at 9,200' elevation with good mtn biking, hiking and stream fishing right on site.

Nesting Trumpeter Swans with three cygnets behind my trailer. Nice trails for walking the dogs with one trail right behind me.

COE Campground Modoc
Spending three days with Mister Cone at COE Campground Modoc on Lake Thurmond. When I checked in at the front gate I mentioned that I would be returning home and bringing back my kayak. The very thoughtful lady then said "Well let me get you a better spot". Kayak sits about forty feet from the trailer front door. Yesterday while heading out to the inlet northern point I spotted a blue heron on the other side of the inlet. As I approached the point the heron flew over and landed on the point. Then as I said to myself "wow that's neat" a bald eagle flew over the heron. First I had seen since moving back south. Later in the evening I got careless and was caught out on the lake in a thunderstorm. Not a good situation especially in an electric boat.
