EDIT: another hint. The town is not near the ocean, and has no association with the US Navy. But, it's most famous resident did.

The hints lead to Pintado (SS-387) at the Chester Nimitz Museum at Fredericksburg, TX... but the surroundings don't look like the photos I found online of the Pintado display. Maybe just changes over time...
There are apparently quite a few of these "submerged-in-the-earth subs" (just sails or conning towers) around: The Subs are Gone, But Their Towers Live On...

Correct! It's part of the Pintado, right at the front entrance to the National Museum of the Pacific War. The Museum has recently expanded, so that may account for the discrepancies in the photos. Here are a couple more my wife and I took recently.

Of all the rocky points with all the good looking red and white lighthouses, you had to post one I didn't know.

Well on #329 I used my Google image search techniques & couldn't come up with the location, so I'll just give a big hint - it is located at a county museum in Oregon. Even with that it is still tough!
Maybe adding this image will help:

I would have guessed someplace in Pennsylvania.

The hint was key. I think it's the Douglas County Museum in Roseburg OR. Here is another photo of the Case Steam Tractor. The rafters are the same too, so I think I found it.

#329 is the Douglas County Museum. It is next to the fairgrounds, an inexpensive place to camp, and an interesting local museum. Among the exhibits is a couple of live rattlesnakes.
