That's the Church at the Desert Bar, in the hills northeast of Parker AZ. Interestingly, the church is made of solid steel, and the walls are made of stamped tin. It should be there for awhile.

I was going to comment that they must have some good air conditioning in a metal building in Arizona but now that I look closer I see it's not required!

A Escape would be easier.
We pulled into this campground on the way back from Osoyoos. A pickup pulled in with what looked to me to be a utility rack for hauling lumber or pipe or whatever. A little later I walked a couple loops and there it was. Yup, there are Griz here. I don't expect you to recognize the campground, so a clue,
The fine Blackfoot singer, songwriter Jack Gladstone performs here each summer. And has for the last 20 years or so. Thought you would enjoy the photo.

Yea, the rooftop tents seem to be quite popular with the 4x4 crowd, especially in the USA. I see them occasionally here in Alberta, but not too often.
We have tent camped many times (on the ground) in grizzly country, and I cannot say that I have ever lost any sleep worrying about it. A grizzly is just as capable of ripping the door off of your Escape trailer looking for a snack as they are of tearing their way into your tent. Both scenarios are pretty unlikely, especially if you and others around you practice bear safe camping.

Bears
I totally agree that if a bear wants in, he will succeed . As most campers using public campgrounds in areas where there are bears, the managing agencies have become quite proactive in informing campers of the rules and techniques necessary to camp as safely as possible. I observed US Park Rangers in a National Park escorting a camper out of the park after he had left his cooler, some food, and a greasy grill out all night. He just did not get up in time to clean his site up before a maintenance man made the observation the first thing in the morning. Do you think a bear could climb that ladder shown? My wife says no problem, she's basing that on seeing this crippled up old man go up and down an extension ladder I think.

I too have spend many hundreds of nights tenting in grizzly country, but there is a distinct difference in that I have been in the backcountry where they are actually more cautious of me, than I need be of them. The ones that get into more public areas, especially in National Parks, are somewhat less trustworthy, having become more familiar with humans. Though even these ones need not be feared, just use caution when dealing with them.

Robert, you are correct. We were coming back home after the rally at Osoyoos last spring and discussing where to stay that night. There was a large sign that indicated Glacier was only about 40 miles. We hadn't even thought of staying there but decided why not? With the geezer pass l, admittance was free and camping was half price. Most campgrounds were closed yet and you could only go a few miles into the park. Still we had a very good time, flat level site, not too far to the restroom, good weather, nice fire. To us that's camping. It seemed somewhat decadent to stop at Glacier as an incidental campground stop when it's usually a destination and needs reservations or is tough to get a site at all. The versatility of the
Escape with its self contained features makes this not only possible but totally enjoyable.
Unsolicited testimonial. Thanks for playing.
Dave

Good Weather? We wanted to go there in June as we hadn't spent enough time last year but the forecast wasn't looking very good. To each their own I guess.
