The issue with the Siskiyou Pass in icy or snowy conditions is the grade... it's 6% for 6-8 miles with sweeping curves. The transportation departments on both sides of the border do a really good job in trying to keep the road open. It's a major commercial transportation route. But no one can control the weather and they want everyone to be safe. Major crashes at the pass can shut it down and that may take longer to clear than if they just shut down the pass to begin with.

I think Siskiyou Pass will be just fine by March 23. But I don't have a crystal ball either.... I think it's best to always plan an alternate route no matter the time of the year. The pass was actually closed both directions a year ago for an entire week due to a wildfire!

Check the Siskiyou pass conditions as you go through Grants Pass. If there is a problem Valley of the Rogue State Park in Rogue River is a good place to wait. Usually is only a day or so. You definitely do not want to try the pass if it is snowy or icy.

Well, we have close relatives in Scottsdale AZ and we'd sure rather visit them for a few days while picking up out E21, but nobody seems to now IF AZ will be a site where one could pick up their product. I sure wieh it was going to be online, so to speak. I am not the least bit excited abt traveling 'up nawth' in cold weather, and having to worry about sliding off into a ditch bks of some black ice, etc. We live in the sunny SOUTH and really like decent road conditions.
