had a chance to look at a 2016 , 23 ft. Oliver . Going out the door on my right , a backup camera shut off , Oliver installs . What I had to go through and the expense , would of been nice of Escape who installed my backup camera system to install a camera shut off . Would of saved over 350. for a new Voyager camera that was burn"t out from always being on if there was 12 volt power. Ok now i am done for the day .

I'm sure if you had asked for a switch they would have installed one, knowing if one is needed is another issue.

Ditto. You called for the custom work, you do the specs. Maybe order a camera that doesn't burn out.

Have to agree. You can't have it both ways. If you want a custom install of something that is not on the Escape options list, then it's your job to spec how it's installed. Most manufacturers would simply say NO to a custom install of anything they don't supply.

Excuse me I paid for the installation . That is why I had them install a new camera otherwise I could of saved the 100. plus the damage to a new camera of 350 . I am suppose to know how to install ? Sorry if the truth hurts sometimes . I don"t live in your bubble . Pat

In other words, you found the camera, you should have known what it's limits were and if a switch should have been used, then you could have specified such. Escape, in installing your supplied product is in no way responsible for it's operation, just that it works.

Sorry to hear your camera failed, but was a switch supplied with the unit, and did the installation manual say one was required? If not, how would Escape know one should have been installed?

Pat, it's not a bubble. Just a difference of opinion about custom item installs. And yes, with something electronic in particular, you're paying Escape to install it, but not for their electronic expertise. They don't provide the part, and it's not a stock option. Or was the camera provided by Escape?
