Yeah, "FUP" isn't an acronym for anything sensible, but I can see a listing using it as some sort of symbol... although I would write it as "FUp" if I decided to use those letters. I think the RV.net practice is to use "FHU" (the acronym"), anyway.

FUP was a new one to me but not to tough to figure out. Like Robert mentioned, if you were in IT (Information Technology) for long you get pretty good at guessing acronyms. Unfortunately you also get accustomed to using them, probably too much.

Yeah, FUP is not easily interpreted. Maybe it is my imagination, but it seems to me that our American friends rely much more heavily on acronyms than we do in the GWN.

Acronyms are fine if they make it easier. When you have to decipher them, not so much.

Yay!!! I figured one out easily.

It takes a mere second to type out most acronyms in full. Heck, just the time many of us have spent discussing, would have been enough time to spell out a years worth.

Basically, if it takes more time to explain what it means, than to actually take the brief moment to fully type out......why?

Some do become commonly used in discussion, like AWOL, A/C, ASAP....just starting with the As.

Apparently Google doesn't know what the word means either. I will banish it from my posts from now on. Carry on.
