Thanks, Greg, I am! So glad DH talked me into getting the kitchen window to enjoy that view!

Yay! Are you getting around the inside of the trailer okay? I know that was one of your concerns long time ago when you were thinking about what to get.

Safe travels home.

Are you getting the rain we're getting right now?

Congrats on your new trailer. It's looks great and your copilot looks content as well. Enjoy the trip home.

Congrats on the new trailer. I wonder how many on this forum would agree that the first night with the new trailer can be a little intimidating. But it gets comfortable pretty quick. Enjoy and safe travels. Loren

Hi Artlady,

We had very similar experience with our pickup as well, last month, but I just had to chuckle on the "serene" Whidbey Island. As I suspect the Naval Air Station wasn't in a readiness exercise while you were there.

We were, and had to buy ear plugs, as the F14's were flying so low to us at our campsite that you could hit them with a thrown rock.

Really nice campground, very friendly/helpful staff, but the noise was horrendous. The RV park staff called it "the sound of freedom"

Glad your experience went well.

Congratulations! NAS Whidbey Island was our first stop for 5 days last year. It's a beautiful location and the "sound of freedom" is great. It's the only campground we have been to that offered freshly picked flowers for your dining table.

Thank you all for the nice replies and support. Yes NW cat, it's good so far. No problems yet with getting around, but i'm bumping my head on some of the overhead cabinets. Maybe taped-on sponges would work?

Whidbey was absolutely wonderful. Yes, we did hear some jets, but not too many. I'm not going to complain, as my son is deployed to the gulf right now, flying these very same jets...

Anyway, The beautiful surroundings and well-kept facility more than made up for it. The gardens were gorgeous! Dahlias the size of dinner plates,

Well, we're on our way back home, and the Internet is spotty at our new campgrounds, I'll try to post some impressions of what we found to be necessary, what we should have added, etc, when we get home.
In the meantime, happy escaping!

Yay, Addie, I'm very happy to hear you're getting around in there just fine. Hey, I expect to bang my head on a few things, so if you figure out how to pad 'em, let me know!

When we first moved to the north part of Spokane many years ago, the military base there used to do night maneuvers with huge helicopters. Almost literally over our heads. It was wonderful to hear and it made me feel very safe knowing our troops were training. I'd imagine I'll feel the same way if/when we camp on Whidbey.

Hey, they have to train somewhere!

Children's departments have various kinds of padding that can be put on cabinets, stove hood, whatever.

Glad you like your Escape! Hope to see it!

Maybe it would just be easier to wear a padded hat!!! Only one thing to pad that way.
