Ditto the "try everything" advice. And do stay in the area, but move around to different sites for 3-4 days. If you do, and nothing happens, fine. But if something does need ETI's attention, you will be glad to be close.

Good theory! However, the time allotted for the walk through flies. And then they have Chester (or another driver) standing by ready to haul the trailer across the border (if you are a US citizen) right after you get the paperwork squared away so you can't do your own leisurely walk through at Escape. It's just what it is at a busy place.

And wouldn't you know it, by no fault of Escape at all, 2 weeks into our return trip home, our water pump failed. And it worked fine during the walk through and a few subsequent uses. Staying nearby for a night or two wouldn't have caught that.

Even though its been 2 months, I am still trying to find the time to read understand the manuals for things like the EMS that I am completely clueless about. But don't cry for me Argentina, because everything works one way or another and we still love it!!

Picked up our 17 last September; camped two nights at Bay View SP on Puget Sound (just west of Mt. Vernon). Plugged in and tried everything: all worked (and still works) great. Spent the next two weeks exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Capped it off at the NOG!

I stayed at Lynden KOA one night to iron things out and then to Port Townsend for a couple of nights. I had 0 problems with my 21. The only problem I had was remembering all the details of the orientation. I think the Escape 21 is the best trailer I've ever had and wouldn't make any changes except eliminate the tv antenna. Loved the Stereo and the Springfield pedestal.

right...... but a few people DO have issues as new...... has been documented well here.

Escape checks stuff well, i am sure, but....

for example - our new 2011 Casita's fridge did get cold, but not cold ENOUGH (not by a long shot.)

thank heavens we were nearby the first 24 hours..... Casita swapped it out, no problems.

just saying.....
