Solar

Has solar always been an option on the Escape trailers since the beginning?

I don't know the exact answer to that but you have to understand that the costs and practicality of solar have changed so much during that time span. I expect that there was much less buy-in in the early days. Going back to the 90's I paid about 10x the current prices per watt. I'm just guessing but probably the very earliest installs were specific requests before it became mainstream enough to be an option.

I have solar on my 2013 Escape (95-watt back then) and I think it was a fairly new roof-install option at the time.

Well I do think that it was amazing forward thinking of them at the time. My husband “Mark James” added solar to our powerboat this year and we were an oddity for sure. Everywhere we went men were inquiring about it. One fellow came running over with his note pad in hand lol! He was fortunate enough to have unlimited advice/ support from a local marine store which made all the difference.

Solar

Even this past season most every time we showed our trailer or had open house at a rally a lot of people (mostly guys) would remark “Oh you have solar up there” but if the Rally is predominately Escapes it’s old hat and only people without a trailer ask about it. That’s our experience. We had ETI put solar on our 19 and when we got 2
Foot itis, this past summer and got the 21, away to Chilliwack we went for another install. We really like the solar and dual Sixes. Does all we need for camping power.

It's still forward thinking as small trailers go. Most manufacturers (including Scamp, Casita and others) don't offer factory solar as an option.
