What I like about Escape trailers
After speaking with Reace and Tammy today, I am more encouraged than ever before that Escape is a top notch company. Reace and Escape does not sit and rest on their laurels of past success, but strive to improve their product. Does Scamp and Casita make wholesale changes because it is the proper thing to do or if it would make the consumer happier?
I spoke with Reace about some of the differences between the new 21' and the 19'.
It seems that the newer frame, now 2"x4" on the 21' will also be used on the 19'. Still using a 2" ball and 21' height. He is also now using 15" wheels on both models, another change. The new Dometic 6.3 refer, the only one offered in the 21' has the new and improved roof exhaust. Reace says he now uses a Jensen radio in the Escape and the new Jack style tv antenna. This antenna is great, you tune the antenna and it has blue leds that tell you when the signal is strongest, you lock it and turn on the tv for the best reception. In addition Escape has upgraded the 12v pump system. These changes are being made in other models also. The list just goes on and on as we tell them what we want and they deliver. Amazing company in that they continue to improve their product and strive to be the best.

Jim, do you think these changes are going in the 19's currently being built?

AFAIK they are, yet they have not raised their prices, in fact they just posted a reduction sale on their website of $1000 discount on select models.

I was reading a thread somewhere that direct summer sunshine on the vents of the refer can make the unit have to work harder. On my 17b the awning shades that vent. Is this going to be an issue with the new street side refer on the new 21 foot.

I just noticed the refer on the 19' is also on the street side so I guess it's not a problem.

That's great! I tried to order 15" when we placed our order. Wonder when the change will be on the frame and TV antenna and if its the ones now in production. It hard to tell from our pictures.

It doesn't matter the brand of trailer, truly... the refrigerator is going to work a WHOLE lot harder if the sun (and heat) are shining down on the vent or side of the trailer where the refrig is located. If you have an option, park the trailer where the refrigerator is in the shade...

New appreciation for how Escapes are made!!!
Hi: All... Just got finished taking out the original battery from 2007. Going to replace it with a Trojan SCS200. I got a good deal from MagnaCharge Batteries because they supply London Transit just down the road... and all I had to do was walk in in uniform for a deep discount.
Taking apart the bracing for the dinette to get the old battery out you find 3 screw where 2 would do... and nice square corners and wiring routed along the braces with cable clamps screwed in. Gotta love 'em. Alf

I think it's cooler and safer on the Ps side it's further from the gas pumps in case the pilot flame is left on. I usually put the sunny side towards the Dr. side if possible in summer to keep cool but in the fall and spring it's the other way.

Just some thoughts after reading an article in USA today. This year, the RV industry expects to ship 309,800 units. Escape will ship around 140 units. I feel very fortunate to be buying one of those 140. While the majority of the 309,800 units will be purchased "off the shelf," we get to spend hours reviewing, discussing and creating our "one of a kind" Escape! I am constantly amazed and heartened by the integrity of Reace & Tammy and the employees of the company that they have built. As a corporate buyer for many years, I understand that it's not about the product, it's about the relationship - and Reace & Tammy "get it." My wife and I can't wait to join the Escape Family!

Thanks for the pictures Alf, reminds me to insulate my battery box, that set up may allow a lot of cold air into the trailer.

Can you insulate effectively and still allow ventilation for the batteries?

Enclose the box with reflectix and same for hose, should keep all cold air in the box, might be a pain though to get access if needed.
