Bob, I've always been tempted to redo a Scamp with a brilliantly colored set of Snap Caps. It's on my Bucket List.

Oh, oh! Oxblood might work if I want purple to go with my fabric. Or that California Blue looks tempting! Oh man, I thought the rest of the decisions on the trailer would be easy.

Laura,
At least this option can be purchased with your loose change jar.
Oxblood sounds pretty cool.

It would probably be the least expensive thing in the entire trailer! And yeah, I have that much in our spare change container.

I changed out the screw covers the same day we got our trailer! In those days, Escape didn't offer black countertops and edging, so I supplied them and they installed them. Tammy said no-one had ever asked for black but that was an absolute for me! I had already purchased black snap covers and a black wrap to cover the beige trim on top of the arborite before the trailer even was finished. My husband didn't think it was a big deal until he saw the finished product. A couple of years later, Karen H got in touch with me to ask about the covers. She mentioned she was going to try painting them and as far as I know, that worked out fine for her. By the way, when I purchased the black snap covers, they were a regular stock item in the hardware section at Lowes. I believe they cost me a couple of dollars.

Hi Greg,

So the large (1/2 inch caps) are the ones that work, and not the 5/16 ones? We are getting the same Basalt formica, and want to swap out the tan ones as soon as we get the trailer. Well, maybe we'll let them do orientation first.

It is the 12/12 size caps. You don't need the bases just the caps, although it never hurts to have some spare bases and caps in ur kit.

With the new 21' having black window frames, black fridge edges, and black heater - we went with formica with black edging, wood pattern flooring, gold(ish) upholstery (and gold graphics) and stainless cooktop/vent hood to match the new sink. Below are the ones we picked:

The Formica will really be the eye catcher with all the brown surrounding it. Nice combination!
