Thank you.
If you knew in advance you would get answers you didn't want, then why ask, and why get bent out of shape about getting the answers you were expecting.

I think Micheal is expecting a solution, that's why he asked the question. But sometimes there is no perfect solution. Too many variables, etc.... and as I mentioned, level of comfort.

Maybe look into a "car" alarm for the trailer?? What does a car alarm do? Goes off when the door is opened? Goes off XX seconds after the door is opened and the car isn't started? A "tip" switch when the vehicle is moved? There are a gazillion solutions....

Hi: All...escape13 seems to be tied up on this question. I've never heard of any Escape owner having installed or installing an alarm system on their trailer.
Knowing Reace can do magic with custom fitted stuff I'm sure he could do it...for a price!!!
Locks are there for the honest people though, and so far the only time our truck alarm goes off is when I bend over to tie up my shoes. Sort of a loud reminder that I need to lose more weight. Alf

Michael, as Alf says, we have not had any Escape owner get such an item that we have ever heard about. I would think that your best bet is to call a number of RV repair places in your area and ask them what they have installed. I am guessing that an alarm is not uncommon with larger units. I am pretty sure that we have been sitting next to units with alarms so I expect the shops know about them. Let us know if you find something suitable, please.

Michael & Debra, perhaps it is a geographical question as you are in Mexico and most members here are either in Canada or US and we are a small group. I'm aware of members in fiberglass rv forums here http://www.fiberglassrv.com/index.html which a much larger and diverse group that have taken measures to protect their rv. You may want to pose your questions there as well. You may find the answer you are looking for.

Yowzee!

An alarm might or might not be a deterrent..depending on the determination of the person who is breaking in. If people don't pay attention to alarms..and YOU'RE not home...then the alarm is useless. My experience is...if someone WANTS it bad enough they will circumvent any type of alarm you install.

My alarm is an 870 with slugs..........dare anyone to come down my driveway and try.....I don't miss!

My suggestion to you is...gather enough information that is provided by these responses..........figure out which one suits your situation..because we don't have a crystal ball...and go for it.

Best wishes....
