Drawer space

I found this on the fgrv site. This might come in handy for some. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/in...howtopic=33550. It could be placed under the small dinette for offide/desk items. (Or a general junk drawer)

Re: Drawer space

These look cool! I'm going to be in trouble when I finally go into a Camping World... Another new toy store for me, added to Home Depot and REI.

Re: Drawer space

Those do look like a great idea, BUT... they do look kinda tacky, what being plastic. In a cabinet under a shelf or something, they would not be so bad. You could put them under a shelf in a pantry or close. If you were handy at all it would not be too hard to make something like that, there are drawer box sides with slides that you could face with a piece of oak to match the cabinetry. The smallest height box I know of is 2 3/4" high which would use up 3" under the counter, we have used these for desk drawers. I know there are other types of slides that could be used too.

Hmmm......You have me thinking now Sandra, not always a good thing. :lol

Re: Drawer space

If you do a Google search for pencil drawers, you will come up with lots of ideas too. Even eBay and Amazon have lots.

Re: Drawer space

I don't think the drawers are very visible (unless you are short like I am) I wonder if "wood look" or wood material could be affixed to the drawer front for better aesthetics. Looks like they're also sold at Camping World.

Re: Drawer space

Hi: All..."Our Escape Hatch" has very shy drawers !!! If you look at them and pull the handle they won't open. If you don't look at them and pull the handle they will open!!! Besides 2 drawers is double the # our Boler had & with a sliding cutlery tray in the top one thats more again.

Re: Drawer space

Are you talking about the built-ins? I didn't really check them out, but in my experience, one has to lift the drawer just a tad to open it. The idea is so it won't roll open while traveling. I'd hazard a guess that the Escape ones are similar. Are they?

Re: Drawer space

Hi: Sandra L... We've had our 5.0 since last may and still don't have the built in drawers "Full of stuff". They are bigger than our Bolers and deeper...and just a tad fiddly to open... I guess that keeps the wrif/wraf out and the drawers closed in transit.

I suppose this holds true with the beer fridge and liquor cabinet too. :

Re: Drawer space

I just googled Pencil Drawers. Yikes, 99.9% of those are more expensive than the ones from Camping World. If they look tacky, I wonder if painting the exterior surface with Fusion paint would help? Or at least the part(s) that may show.
