Hepvo valve install for 21'

I don't see a trap in mine under the shower, I wonder if mine was one of the 6.

On my last Casita I replaced the p-traps in the kitchen and bathroom sinks and shower drains. No more antifreeze and as Donna said, freed up some valuable space under the kitchen sink. Unfortunately in the Bigfoot I can't get at all the p-traps to remove them.
I have no complaints about the quality. It's no flimsier than most sink drain pvc. And I see no need for ABS since it isn't exposed to the sun and all the other plumbing around it is pvc.

I would never use PVC for a sink drain. Why, when ABS is so inexpensive? Escape ran ABS into my galley.

Well like I said, I've never had or heard of one leaking before, so I can only speculate he got a bad production run. If so I agree it should never have gotten out of the factory, but I've had such good success with them I'm still a fan.

Same here Walt. Had the Hepvo in the Casita and now in the Escape. The smell has been eliminated in my 21'.

Hi Walt, that is interesting. I thought the antifreeze was also for the water lines?

Does anyone else have a solution for people who want the spray foam under their 19? Mine is on order and I really want to have the Hepvo installed before they spray foam it.

There are two common methods of winterizing.
One fills the fresh water system and p traps with antifreeze.
The other uses a compressor to blow out all water from the fresh water system and uses antifreeze only in the p traps. I was referring to the latter since that's my preferred method.

Two of the three hepvo valves are inside, I think the foam protection far outweigh the inconvenience of not having another hep valve underneath. Check out Jon's post on putting a hole in the gray tank, something the foam would prevent. https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...tml#post387695

I'm hoping they may agree to install the Hepvo for the shower before doing the foam. It really seems like a better design.
Failing that, how hard is it to cut out and replace the foam where needed?
