microwave cabinet slider

The Family Handyman magazine had an article in this month's issue: make your own kitchen sliders. I whipped this one out for the microwave cabinet. We were constantly having to unload items to find the candy bars!

Where/how did you access the article? Do you need to have a subscription in order to view it?

I just did it through our library. They have online access to lots of magazines, very useful.
You can do it from online anywhere too once you have signed up with your library card.

That's THE idea of the day! There's the city library across the parking lot from where I'm sitting at work right now. (Why did I not think of that?).

Thanks, much.

That's what we used to do when we lived in Plano, Tx, but I am sure our membership has expired...or has it I will check!

Great idea on the slider tray for the microwave cabinet. We're not getting a microwave from ETI as I figured I can get one later if need be. I was thinking of a slider, but that's as far as my thinking got.

Did you have any problems with the water pipe in that cabinet?

(edit: I see in the photo that it's not flush on the right so it probably does clear that pipe just fine.)

And who's the silly ninny that puts candy bars in the back of that cabinet? Isn't the important stuff supposed to be in the front?

And RedDog, I've not heard of a library card expiring. If you've not used it in a really long time it might need to be reactivated. Or if you told them you moved.

Well, tried it and I got an error. They must have gotten the memo that I retired, move away, and having a GOOD TIME!!!

We have to go in and renew ours every year now and show ID with an address in their service area. If not, it expires. Guess they're getting tougher.

Our 2016 classic 21' didn't have a water pipe in the microwave cabinet, but there's enough room on the right to pass by apparently. The slider was really easy to make, and solves a problem of deep cabinets and no light.
I just get the family handyman on line for my phone and i-pad. No need for a paid subscription. Just sign up on line.

microwave

That looks like a great addition . We ordered the reg cabinet and did not order a microwave .Now to get our 21 home and start some nice mods to make it ours .
1-microwave slide out
2-put in large drawer under 21 bed to pull out where reg door is
3-put in small divider under 21 bed with extra door ordered from ETI
