Very easy to do; just a 12V drop and a couple of screws. I want them at the foot of the be so I can avoid using the A/C. And with one on each side, I don't have to share with my wife .

Jim (cpaharley2008), was the switch required or just something that you added as a positive shutoff and power indicator light? It seems to me that this could just be hardwired right to the unit and controlled with the front knob if someone wanted to, correct?

I wanted a positive shut off before the unit but you can add a switch to the unit to enable the dual heating elements, I disabled one because I only wanted 700 watts, but you could switch them to have the ability of 1400 watts. I did this to my Escape 19 install back in 2012 with this type of heater.

Darn, did it again. There are 2 110v outlets there and the antenna/amp if you have the Jack. No 12v outlets, although there is 12v going to the antenna/amp. The invoice says Jack antenna and 120v for TV Ready. So I guess if you don't get TV ready there is no 120v there.

The closest 12v outlet is next to the door on the loft side.

So much for saving $50. Sorry.

I requested and received a 12v outlet next to my tv hookup as my televisions are always 12v, no charge for the change. Did the same in my 21 Escape also, with the Jack set up.

Here is the optional smoke lens on the MaxxFan, you can see the clouds in the sky, really neat at night.

I installed some ambient night time illumination that also lights up the lower kitchen cabinets, notice the vent holes installed that allow the light to escape when the cabinets are closed. Better pictures will follow once completed.

The actual DRY weight for your specific trailer and with your specific build list is not listed ?
I was under the impression perhaps in error, that Escape weighed each trailer after fab and listed the actual weight somewhere.

Using those labels my trailer is 3684 plus 400 tongue weight, total 4084# and that is wet weight as I had the propane and water tanks filled at the factory.

Nice! That has sold me on getting the smoke option. Thanks for posting this photo.

Here's the math, using the values from the foil Motor Vehicle Safety Standards sticker:

2272 kg (GVWR) <- 5009 lb
- 598 kg (cargo carrying capacity)
= 1674 kg (wet empty weight) <- 3691 lb

2272 kg (GVWR) <- 5009 lb
- 598 kg (cargo carrying capacity)
- 129 kg (water in freshwater tank and water heater)
= 1545 kg (dry empty weight) <- 3406 lb

These gross, cargo, and water weights are not just the portion on the axle - they are totals - so there is no reason to add the tongue weight again. If the weight distribution is (for example) 12% on tongue, then the axle loads (total of both axles) would be:
maximum: 1999 kg (4407 lb) axle + 272 kg (601 lb) tongue,
wet and empty: 1443 kg (3248 lb) axle + 201 kg (443 lb) tongue, and
dry and empty: 1359 kg (2997 lb) axle + 185 kg (409 lb) tongue.
The first sheet lists a "tongue load range". It makes no sense for a single value to be a range, and the stated value is too low for the trailer when loaded fully, so it is probably the approximate tongue weight when empty, or maybe a minium... but it could be anything. I certainly hope it isn't intended as a tongue weight upper limit (which would belong on the other sticker, anyway) because it is common for owners to go much higher than that, and it would mean only 8% tongue weight with a fully loaded trailer (which means certain death and destruction according to "conventional" wisdom ).

Both wet and dry weights should be without propane, since it is not listed in the Cargo Carrying Capacity calculation. The empty propane tanks should be included in the empty weights; with two full 20-pound propane tanks the weights would be 40 pounds higher (3631 lb wet, 3446 lb dry), and the remaining cargo carrying capacity would be 40 pounds lower. If it rolled out of the factory with full freshwater tank, water heater, and propane tanks, it should have weighed 3731 pounds as it left.

thanks..anyone know if there are any public scales anywhere near the factory or close on either side of the border one could drive to after pickup and possible loading?

Commercial scale is about 100 yards away next to the Best Western.

Have to admit that I've never used it. It's in a truck stop. I'd ask ETI if they have an arrangement.

I usually use provincial highway scales, but it looks like from Chilliwack the nearest ones in B.C. are east to Hope or west to Surrey... not very close and not on your path if crossing the border at Sumas. The one baglo mentioned is the D.A.I. in the Esso station beside the Tim Horton's on Industrial Way:

Chilliwack - Cool Creek Esso
7985 Lickman Road, Exit 116 Hwy 1 • Location # 370 418
(604) 795-5335 - Open 24 Hours
Map It
