Biggest TV that will fit in 21 escape
We bought a 24" Samsung for our 21
Being built this summer. We're now wondering if it's too big to mount in the space provided. What sized TV's are others using?

I put in a 22 over the nightstand; that fit well - barely protrudes past the closet cabinet.

I'd suggest waiting until you pick up your trailer and then decide on size of tv. I had 2 separate televisions in BlackJack and maybe used them a total of a dozen times in 2 years. Next Escape will only have a cable connection and a small tv for those times wanted. I do recommend getting a dvd/tv combo to watch movies, YMMV.

The stereo system that ETI sells plays DVD and CDs and works well, if you would prefer not to have the DVD player in the TV. The audio will go thru 4 speakers which is also a nice feature.

In my sticks 'n bricks, I've gone through two TV/DVD combo units. Why is it the DVD player goes out pretty quickly? I'll never buy another combo unit. DVD players are <$50 and are pretty small. If just the DVD player goes out the unit can be easily replaced. Here's a sample: Sony DVD Player YMMV

So I guess you can plug in your tv to the radio to watch and hear the movie??

a 24" TV was the largest that would fit in the cabinet
When we bought our Escape 21, I looked at a lot of TVs. The largest tv that would fit in the closet, laying on the floor, or be flat against the closet wall is a 24" TV.
You can have a longer TV if you are willing to have the TV extend into the aisle, or to angle the TV a bit. Then you would have to think about what you are going to do with the TV when moving -- leave it up, lay it on the bed, or figure out another way to store it.
We use a Jensen TV and a Jensen Radio/DVD. We can have the TV sound come out of the radio speakers, which is nice. When we watch tv we use the speakers above the bed.

Exactly. BTW, I will have photos later today of the safety chains on the Andersen when hitched.

We have a 19" TV which fits perfectly on the cabinet above the furnace. It also plugs into the stereo and feeds through the speakers. Loren.

We installed an identically sized Samsung in our U shaped dinette on the side of the frig (driver side), the side of the dinette I sit. I installed a Master Mounts TV arm. The TV sticks out an inch or two beyond the frig, but does not interfere with my entrance or egress to dinette with the OEM table. I am 5'9", 145. I probably had enough clearance I could have moved the TV mount so that the TV did not stick out at all. Neither one of us complain about the TV screen being too big. I follow ETI's recommendation and dismount the TV when moving. Cliff

We just bought a 24" Insignia TV (Best Buy house brand). Like LeonW, we have a Jensen radio with DVD player, so the convenience of a Jensen TV was tempting, but it cost nearly 3x as much!
We chose ours in stores by checking the back for the DC voltage, Insignia was the only one, vs LG (17 or 18 V) and Samsung (14 V), that used 12 V. We had to separately buy the power cable with 'cigarette lighter' to 'universal' connectors.
We bought the 25" extension Master Mounts 404L (made by McNaughton, but at a higher priced if bought under that name). It locks in place, so we had initially intended to leave it mounted. But in light of Donna's comment that a trailer is undergoing a constant earthquake while underway, we decided to follow LeonW's lead and put the TV on the floor of the closet for traveling.
The 25" extension of the cantilever is barely enough to get the TV free of the cabinets for viewing from the passenger side dinette seats. It also centers the TV above the night stand, barely back from flush with the cabinet front and not quite touching the wall. For watching from bed, the 25" extension allows the TV to be closer to the bed, enhancing the 'big screen' effect. The mount also can be tilted vertically, by two screws with large, convenient, plastic knobs to hold the adjustment.
To make removing the TV easier, we bought an Ergotron quick release mount that goes between the MasterMounts and the TV. Disconnect cables, push a lever, and lift the TV out. The lever looks like nylon plastic, tough but will probably break eventually; however, this shouldn't matter as long as we always remove the TV before traveling. While stationary, gravity will reliably hold the TV in place [at least every time I've checked, gravity has been dependable. ]
Except for the TV, everything here is available from Amazon, among other places.
It was nice to get this all mounted and connected, and learn that our Jack antenna works well, as many others have said.
Now to see whether we will actually use all this stuff when camping.

Ceiling has a padded vinyl headliner material on it. Would be very difficult to attach a tv mount without bolting through the roof (and holes may leak). Most people will mount their TV's from the bulkhead walls inside the trailer, or alternatively, you could hang it from the upper cabinets that are typically located around the perimeter of the front or rear of your trailer.

You know there's no wood frame work in the ceiling of these trailers, right? Maybe I shouldn't be laughing... I see you have a Forest River build so maybe you don't know. If that's the case I apologize. The only wood you could possibly mount a television mount to would be whatever small bit surrounds a vent. But I wouldn't. There's better places...

Through the fiberglass? No way I'd try it.

I guess I should have explained a little better. The idea I had was that perhaps Escape could fiber-glass a piece of wood to the ceiling just like they do the walls for attaching the cabinets. That way no screw penetration of the roof. Surely if they run wires for the AC then wiring and coax for the TV would be possible. Just thinking outside the box.
PS: Looking at some build pictures, it appears Escape does fiber-glass some wood to the ceiling.

That would be a very expensive modification and you'd need to specify exactly where the mounting would be AND the dimensions of your mounting piece. Not all owners without a ceiling mounted TV would want to look at that bump in the ceiling covering.

I think it's an interesting idea to mount to the ceiling. Depending on where the mount is located, it may cause "head clearance" issues. Low ceilings are often problems for wannabes.

Would be perfect for watching NFL. You could have your very own concussion.
