Glad you had a good time at Jalama. We talked about El Cap at Thanksgiving, I wanted to clarify that it's not a rally or even a get together. Jane and Lori do their thing with their friends and Ann and I do our thing with family. Last year, we said howdy and everybody went their own way. Weather can suck too (rained last year) so it likely won't be what you might be expecting. FYI.

    Hi Carl,

I haven't driven the Ford F150 with the Ecoboost yet, but will soon. I'm in no rush and may wait until next year, or 12/31 to see if I can get a year end deal. Also like the Dodge Ram and the Chevy Silverado is nice too.

    Thank you for the input.

    Cheers, Mark

    Hi Mark,
I have gotten as little as 14 mpg pulling a Scamp 19 with the EcoBoost. And as good as 16 mph. Probably averages a bit over 15. I attribute it to how much corn they put in the gas. On the highway, not towing, I've gotten as much as 21.9 mpg. If you are thinking about going the EcoBoost route, you might want to wait until February. My son-in-law's dad works for Volvo, and they have a connection to Ford. I am told they are coming out with a new EcoBoost engine that will be optional in the all aluminum bodied F150 and they are projecting 30 mpg highway. I would guess that will provide something in the low 20s towing an egg.
Wish I had the ability for an aux fuel tank available diesels, but I chose gasoline simply due to maintenance concerns, since my truck is used primarily for towing. I bought it in January of 2012 and it only just turned 20,000. I couldn't let a diesel sit idle as much as I do.
Hope I answered you question adequately.
    Carl
