2017's Friction hinge from the door maker not escape. They come from the door manuf with this was my impresion.. Any door slam hits the bellyband rubber. I think the contact point was the black door...

Maybe the door manuf makes it tight to keep the water seal waterproof and the down the road vibration down. Might give tolerance leeway for some years later as it all loosens up.
