I can't remember exactly. At least 4'. I talked to Best converter and they gave me the length. I mounted it right on front of the panel and the door closed right over it. I have not had any...

I don't believe the converter uses the 120 volt...

I don't believe the converter uses the 120 volt as the "preferred" power source or switches the battery out of the system. It controls the common buss voltage by raising it above the battery...
