Yes, I should have mentioned leaving your trailer at the campground. There are a couple of nice Forest Service campgrounds on the highway before it gets too tight, but they are often fully reserved.

While not the coast, on the way drive to the end of the Mt. Baker Highway (WA 542) and check out Picture Lake & Artists Point. Just try to avoid foggy days - the views are wonderful when it is clear.
