Kayaks fit!
Have 4 inches of clearance between our Taco cab and the trailer with 10 ft kayaks.....works great and easier to load than a rooftop rack.

What extra clearance do you need for tight turns?

What lounge chairs do you use? They look nice and sturdy.
Thanks, Bob

None - 90 degree turn clears the corner by about 2 inches with the tip of the canoe an inch or two from the cab.
I added the carriers to the truck, then used an extension ladder mounted on one to figure out what length would fit by driving around a parking lot.
Then I bought the kayaks.

Those are zero-gravity tilt back chairs from Costco. Think they were about $45 some years ago.
Very sturdy with built-in table extension.

Have you checked what happens in uneven terrain? For example pulling in and out of a gas station. If the front of the truck or rear of the raises your clearance could evaporate. Sure looks to tight to me.

Yup, up and down a 30 degree slope. No problem!
Retired engineer - I did a lot of kinematic modeling on the computer before I bought the real toys for tryout.

We haul our 13'9" kayaks on top of the Toyota truck using a pair of Thule Hullavators while pulling our 2022 21NE. Works very well!

Trying to see if you have a tonneau cover on truck? And what racks did you use?

Yup, If you're going to lift a kayak 6+ feet in the air, it's nice to have an Eddyline.

Yep the eddyline was certainly a move in the right direction. I am entertaining selling one or two of mine and getting one of the swift canoes that are stupid light.
