Towing a 5.0 with a Dually

I know it is completely overkill but can you tow an Escape 5.0 with an 2018 Ford F-350 dually 4x4 long bed? My wife and I just visited the Escape factory today to see a 5.0 and we really like it. We are considering switching from our current Lance truck camper which requires a dually to haul it. The truck is completely paid off and eventually we will downgrade to an F-150 if the Escape 5.0 works out for us. We would like to hold on to the dually for a couple of years just in case we want to go back to truck camper. Our current truck also has the 5th wheel prep which is a bonus. Thanks.

Measure the height of the tailgate and bed sides. You’ll have no trouble towing a 5.0 with a f-350 unless it’s taller than stock. I think 56-57” will work with a standard 5.0, and you can be a couple/few inches taller with a lifted 5.0. Confirm with ETI on the measurements.

Sometimes I forget I’m towing with a 2.8l turbo diesel. I’m certain you’ll forget that it’s back there.

Thank you. I know about the bed rail height which I need to measure when we get home but I am also concerned about clearance for the wide dually fenders when turning.

Measure from the kingpin to the tailgate, and kingpin to an outside fender. If it’s further to the outside of the fender you should research a little more.

You might find the ETI towing guidelines helpful.
