South Carlsbad SB, California
One of our favorite campgrounds is at South Carlsbad State Beach in California. We have camped here many times while living in Arizona. It was a quick trip out of the Arizona summer heat. We now live in Texas so we don't travel to California often.
This week we were in California and decided to stay at this campground for a few days. They are currently installing sites with full hook-ups. However, most of the campsites are still dry camping. The campground is two miles long with half the sites on the cliff (water side) and the other half on the street side. We always get a site on the cliff side. The traffic can be noisy at times, and we like waves.
You can see so far out on the ocean. It's a fun place to relax and walk on the shore. There used to be lots of shells, but there weren't many this time. When it got too windy or cold we came in. With the Escape 5.0, we could view the pelicans flying by, while sitting at the table. We even saw pilot whales swimming back and forth. Great sunsets too.
