You will like the Corpus Christi area. There are several places close to Kingsville that you might like. Seawind RV Resort about 20 mi south of Kingsville on the coast is very nice.

It's a Kleberg County park and maintained very well. Also a boat ramp and fishing pier there. I think it's about 325 a month plus utilities.

Stopped by there last week to see someone on my way to town (Kingsville) and there were two 21's there.

We like our winter Texans!

We like staying near the city of Port Aransas, Texas on Padre Island. Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort is super nice and has a board walk right to the beach. They have a 24 foot minimum for travel trailers - but if you talk with them they might make an exception. www.gulfwatersrvresorttx.com Pioneer RV Resort is not quite as fancy, but nice. It also has a boardwalk that goes right to the beach. www.pioneerrvresorts.com best regards, Chris

Thx Chris, well the 24' rule is still in place. The dates i put in for Pioneer were taken. I wish these campgrounds would just tell you what dates were available. It's not just Texas either. Looks like their are plenty of grounds in the Corpus Christi area. Will keep checking. A warm 2 months out of Iowa is my goal.

I don't know where you're coming from but if you pass through central Texas on the way down, check out the RV park at San Saba; its a very simple park but really well maintained, nice showers and they have a 18 hole golf course that the RV park is part of and really amazing rates if you stay in the park. We stayed two weeks and the price of playing gold every day and the park were much less than you pay for just the park in most places!!

I'm not familiar with that RV park but it looks very nice. i'll have to check it out one day. The location is great. You can take the free Ferry over to Port Aransas, or travel into Corpus Christi. Sounds like a great way to spend a few months during winter. I bet you'll love it.
